In 2008, he participated in the Anhui Satellite TV singing and talent show "North and South OK King Championship" and won the national finals; afterwards, he was excavated by a Korean brokerage company and went to South Korea for training . In 2009 he officially debuted as a member of the Chinese-Korean group Y-star. Two years later Ashin withdrew from the group for personal reasons.
